C-Section Release Therapy
For the māmā craving to feel whole again
WHAT TO EXPECT
C-section Release therapy is a gentle and holistic treatment designed to support healing, comfort and connection of your scar, abdomen, and body in early days AND even years after birth. The treatment blends safe & effective bodywork with breath coaching, lifestyle guidance, and a thoughtful home-care plan. We work specifically with fascia, overactive muscles, The Nervous System, and scar adhesions in an intentional and methodical way.
If you’ve had a C-section, you might be surprised (or you already know) how much your scar can affect other parts of your body — things like your posture, breathing, core function, ease of movement, digestion, and even your emotional health. Most women are never really told about this, which means a lot of them are carrying discomfort or disconnection without knowing why. Many women say they feel like that part of their body is disconnected or doesn’t feel part of them. The C-Section Release Therapy aims to restore this connection and guide you slowly home to yourself.
THERAPY CAN HELP WITH
Through gentle hands-on therapy we release restrictions, adhesions, and bring life back to the scar & surrounds.
❋ Scar discomfort & painNerves can be faulty after being severed in surgery. This therapy can help neural pathways to re-build in an effective way.
❋ Numbness & altered sensationThrough this therapy the abdomen and breath begin to operate in synchronicity — as they should, to provide core and pelvic stability.
❋ Core function & breathing dynamicsWhen a scar is tended to , and the abdomen is brought back to life — it changes the way a mother breathes, moves, and responds to life. We carry so much and this therapy reminds you of your worthiness to feel connected, resilient, and at ease in your body.
❋ Mental & emotional wellbeingThe shelf is more than “a layer of fat” that most mothers think it is. Adhesions, and fascial restrictions play a big part.
❋ "The Shelf" that can sit above the scar C-section Surgery, adhesions, altered breathing patterns, and core instability can all play a part in compensatory patterns where other parts of the body come to the rescue. This can result in pain, weakness, and discomfort.
❋ Pelvic, Lower-back, and hip painWHEN TO COME IN
We recommend booking your first appointment >8 weeks after surgery and only if your scar is fully healed and closed. We also ask that you receive the all clear from your midwife or GP that gentle massage around & on the scar is safe based on your needs.
It is never too late to work on your scar — even years down the track. Many women who receive this therapy still see amazing results in their breath, reduction of pain, connection, mobility, and core function.
