Rested Therapeutics

Where rest becomes medicine

Held with compassion, led with intention.

NeuroSomatic Rest meets real people where they are. Designed to therapeutically support burn-out, stress management, mental & emotional wellbeing, chronic health conditions, and embodied wisdom.

A sanctuary for tired souls and curious hearts

  • NeuroSomatic Rest doesn’t ask you to do more. Instead it invites you to breathe freely, listen compassionately, and re-connect with your innate wholeness - even within complexity.

For many of us, daily life is spent in constant “go mode.” NeuroSomatic Rest offers an intentional space to slow down, care for your nervous system, and reconnect with the body in a supportive and gentle way. We believe imbalance can hold wisdom and serve as a way to pause, reflect and attune to our minds, body’s and hearts. When we attune, and honour our unique biological, psychological, and spiritual needs, we can therefore build a greater capacity for the fullness life.

Each practice is therefore shaped to be one of inquiry, and a pathway back to balance and equanimity.

  • Trauma-Informed Guidance

As a trauma-informed facilitator, Kayla guides and facilitates each practice with humility, sensitivity, and care. Every person experiences rest and stillness differently, which is why our Neuro-Somatic Rest sessions are offered in a slow, titrated, and trauma-sensitive way.

Participants are always encouraged to move at their own pace, with a strong emphasis on choice, autonomy, and self-awareness.

    A Foundation of Safety

Feeling safe within your own experience is one of the most important elements of rest becoming truly restorative and therapeutic. Because of this, creating a sense of safety, trust, and nervous system support is at the heart of every session we offer.

Our intention is to provide a space where your body can gradually soften out of survival mode and return to its natural capacity for rest, repair, and restoration.

  • If you are a human, NeuroSomatic Rest is probably suitable for you. Our sessions and interventions are designed to be extremely low-effort, inclusive, and adaptable. However, we recommend discussing any new health and wellness regime with your primary healthcare provider. If you have significant trauma-history and are currently working with a mental health professional or have done so in the past, we recommend consulting with them before attending a Therapeutic Rest session. You are most welcome to pass on our details they can investigate further as to whether this practice is suitable for you.

Hello! I’m Kayla,

    • Mother & Wife to a tribe of boys

    • Lover of nature, rest, reading, solitude, Yoga, and Sunday cuddles in bed

    • Facilitator of conscious rest, embodied wisdom, and self-compassion

    • Trauma-aware, and dedicated to curating empowering, supportive, and inclusive spaces.

  • Kia Ora! I’m Kayla - the name and face behind Rested Therapeutics. I’m a mother to two fierce and energetic boys (yes my nervous system needs a lot of help) and a wife to the best husband in the world (I’m a little bias!).

Therapeutic Rest is a modality I’m extremely passionate about as it combines all my passions, experience, and expertise into an offering designed for tired souls, and curious hearts. My facilitation style is relaxed, humble, and led with humility. I believe we are all just humans trying to figure out this over-stimulated and stressful world and everyone needs a bit of help to navigate the turmoil. I believe NeuroSomatic Rest not only supports us to widen our window of tolerance for the inherent challenges we all face at some point, but also restores our capacity for joy and vitality that we deserve simply because we are alive.

  • I hold a Bacahelors degree is Sport Science and Human Performance, 200 Hour Yoga Certified, and have completed trainings in both Somatic Trauma-Informed Yin Yoga (60 HR), and my latest Advanced Training in Trauma, Mental Health, and Body Image (50 HR). I am an absolute nerd when it comes to the neuroscience of somatic and rest. When i’m not walking, or reading a good book - you’ll find me researching or learning all things nervous System, neuroscience, physiology, mental health & embodied wisdom.

However, my greatest education is that in which I have received in practice, and witnessing the profound impact that conscious rest and embodied awareness can have on mind, body, and soul in those I have had the privilege to guide and hold space for.
